Ruby is considered to be the King of Precious Gemstones. In
Latin, Ruby is called Ruber which means, the colour Red. During the 600AD, European Gem hunters and
experts Marco polo & Jean Tavernier traced Myanmar’s Gem Source. They discovered vibrantly saturated stones
ranging from Pigeon red to pinkish Red and believed that these Romantic looking
Stones were the most powerful of all.
This legendary stone has made history since the time they have been
discovered. Most often, they have always been worn as adornments and many
believed that these stones are a fortune for Wealth, Wisdom Beauty &
never-ending Love.
Maharaja Bhupinder Singh gifted this strikingly gorgeous
necklace to his wife Maharani Sri Bakhtawar Kaur Sahiba. This necklace is made
of Ruby beads, oval cabochon, and circular-cut rubies, old and single-cut
diamonds, natural pearls, platinum (French marks), 13 ins., 1931, restored and
restrung by Cartier Tradition in 2012, signed Cartier.
This entire Ruby Layer necklace was created by Cartier in
1931. It was an astounding choker necklace made in platinum using rubies, pearls,
and diamonds. The upper part of the necklace had six layers of rubies with
exclusive diamonds and pearls carefully and cautiously embedded on the sides.
The middle part contains rubies mixed with pearls. The lowermost part of the
necklace is the heaviest of all containing diamonds and rubies.
